I love a good theme, and having to set our clocks back this weekend falls right in line with something I have been practicing lately.  Whenever I notice that I am becoming easily irritated about any and everything, I know it is time for me to take a break.  In a world that praises people for pushing through – it can be hard to take a step back, but it might be exactly what we need.

How often do we make well thought-out plans that never come to light because we feel weighed down?  We plan to get in shape, but we constantly see images of people that discourage us from getting started.  We plan to focus on our nutrition, but we find ourselves with too much fried food or a drink in our hand.  We want to improve our mental health, but we are constantly interacting with people who suck the energy right out of us.  We can’t control everything, but we can do a lot to protect our peace.

I want to encourage you to “Fall Back!”  Are people’s highlight reels on social media making you doubt yourself?  “Fall Back” and get off the apps.  Are you doing life with people who appear to thrive off negativity and gossip?  “Fall Back” and limit your interactions with them.  Are you eating and drinking things that have no nutritional value and make you feel bad?  “Fall Back” and be intentional about only consuming things that support a healthy lifestyle.  Do the wrong people have too much access to you?  “Fall Back” and become unreachable.  I’m not suggesting we cut off family and friends who have our best interests in mind.  We have been on this health and wellness journey together long enough to know the difference.  “Choose YOU” and do what you need to set yourself up for success.  I’m here if you need me.
